Weekend of Jan. 31

Hello New Yorkers et al. It’s yet another mad weekend on the MTA. While the Straphanger’s Campaign and other interested parties are mourning the potential loss of the Z and W and late night R service, regular loss of service continues unabated just like every other weekend. It’s a tough weekend for the 7 and L train specifically. It is a hassle for both riders to get in to Manhattan this weekend. Many of the hassles or minor but make sure to check the map this weekend. Best of luck out there and Happy Tracks New York!

Weekend of Jan. 24

Hey there everyone, welcome back to yet another weekend of adventure with the MTA. The deadline is coming hard and fast (I believe it is March 25th) for the Gov. Paterson to help keep the MTA from reaming NYC riders with huge fare increases and eliminating service. Make sure you get in touch with your elected representatives and let them know what kind of impact such action would have on the ability for New Yorkers to afford living in this great city. And besides, cutting down on service is a great way to solve the overcrowding on the subways. I hope everyone stayed warm this week and managed to catch some of the Inauguration festivities for President Obama. Happy Tracks New York!

Weekend of Jan. 17

Welcome back New York. It is late and I will keep it short. It’s a tough weekend out there on the subways. Stay warm and keep a cool head trying to navigate Manhattan. Happy Tracks New York!

Weekend of Jan. 9

Saturday Noontime update: You ever miss that feeling of a snow day as a kid when you wake up and their is no school? Today might be as close as we adults get. All subway service changes are CANCELED! The map and thumbnail below are the normal weekend service map. Note: The station rehab at Neck Rd and Ave U on the Brighton Line (Q) are still in force since they are an all times change. The G train may even run to 71st-Continental this weekend! But be on the lookout for trains running local and unplanned zaniness due to the snow. Happy Tracks New York!

Weekend of Jan. 3

Saturday Updates: The Q train is extended to Astoria-Ditmars to help ease the 7 train burden. The previously posted A train express run between Euclid Ave and Broadway Jct has been erased because it is late night only.

Welcome back everyone and a happy first weekend of 2009! Well the MTA put off any major maintenance during the holiday season, which means that this weekend, all hell breaks loose. There are a lot of changes to go around, especially in Manhattan on the A, C, D, 6, L, and 7 lines. Things are especially rough going crosstown as the L and 7 both terminate before reaching the west side. The good news is that there are not too many problems getting to Manhattan, especially in Brooklyn. Be careful and stay warm out there. Happy New Year and Happy Tracks New York!

DISCLAIMER: The MTA will make changes to train service based on the
second-to-second needs of the dispatchers and conductors, as well as
making full day changes without informing the public.
