Weekend of Feb. 28

I’m going to make a short post as if it very late/very early. I am unsure when the turnover from one to the other begins. It is a basically scaled-down version of the last two weekends. Enjoy your weekend everyone. Happy Tracks New York!

Weekend of Feb. 21

Welcome back straphangers. It’s another weekend of work for the men and women of the MTA. But not necessarily much work for me. I’ve had to do very little to last week’s map to update it. I just fix the L train here, add work to the Q train there and voila! This week’s map! I will also confuse everyone further by using the same thumbnail as last week. So it’s another tough weekend for riders on the 3, 7, A, D, and J train. Keep warm and happy tracks New York!

Weekend of Feb. 14

Happy Singles Awareness Day™ New York! I think February 14th is an affront to actual love and affection so I won’t be mentioning it from this point forward. Sorry V-Day lovers! But, there is an even more important holiday this weekend, President’s Day! Happy joint birthdays Washington and Lincoln! So if you’ve got nothing to do for 2/14, go down to the library and pick up either His Excellency: George Washington by Joseph J. Ellis or Team of Rivals by Doris Kearns Goodwin. It never hurts to read up on the founding fathers. There is subway related stuff this holiday weekend however. For one, the subway runs on a Saturday schedule on Monday. Most of the service changes expire on Sunday night with on exception, All A, C, and E train changes are in effect Monday. Otherwise, it’ll be normal weekend service. So if you’re going to work on the 8th Ave line on Monday, just check before you go. I will be out of town this weekend so the map won’t be changed, but I will post any corrections.

Weekend of Feb. 7

Saturday Update: I fixed the E and R train change so the wording now matches the map. Thanks Kyle and Sunny for the heads up.

Welcome Back New York! This weekend brings sweet relief for riders of the L train, neverending harassment for riders of the 7 train, and major headaches for riders on the J train. Not to mention the typical slate of reroutes, express runs, local runs, and service interruptions. And at this point should the MTA just officially eliminate the C train on weekends as it seems to never run anyways. But heck, it’s going to be such a beautiful mild winter weekend, maybe we should all just walk everywhere. It might be the quickest way out of Cypress Hills this weekend. Happy Tracks New York!

DISCLAIMER: The MTA will make changes to train service based on the
second-to-second needs of the dispatchers and conductors, as well as
making full day changes without informing the public.
