Weekend of Oct. 10

Saturday update: Everyone can disregard the Q terminus symbol at Prospect Park. it’s a leftover from last weekend.

Welcome back NYC. As the media has been correct to point out, this weekend appears to be the perfect storm of service changes. The NY Post is off to its usual tricks of getting outrage out of anyone who’ll give’m a quote. But it’s never a bad idea to publish a hellish weekend of service changes. You can check out all the colorful quotes from The Post. There has also been some chatter on SubChat and Gothamist about the topic. And thanks to the folks at SubChat for the shout outs! Yes, it is a crazy weekend. Shuttle buses are replacing trains on at least six lines (5, A, F, G, L, Rockaway S) with service eliminations on two other lines (E and R) that will be supplemented by other trains. None of this mentions the lines that have express runs for major sections (1, 4, 5, 7, C, D, J, Q). So it will be tough to get around this weekend, especially for folks enjoying the Open House New York activities. Thanks to everyone for the attention, and if you’re new here, just click the map for the PDF. Happy Tracks New York!
